Guiding you home
What can I expect in my first session?
When you arrive, I will greet you and invite you into the Studio with a cup of tea. You will be given a form to fill out with your details. We will have a relaxed, down to earth conversation about what has brought you to therapy, and what you might like to work on. The first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. We know that the biggest predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client, so it’s important you feel that my approach resonates with you and is suited to your needs at this time. Together we will decide if we would be a good fit to work together.
Do I need a referral to see you?
No, you do not require a referral to see me. Simply book in here.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes I do. Please click here to book in.
Please attend all online sessions on a desktop or laptop computer – not a mobile device or tablet. Mobile devices are unstable and cause an unnecessary distraction during the call.
Arrange to be in a room free of distraction & where you have privacy.
It is your responsibility to be aware of and diarise the sessions you book so that you do not miss any.
Do you do home visits?
Home visits are not part of my services. All sessions are either in person at my Studio, at an outdoor location in nature or online if necessary. Please contact me to enquire about therapy.
What does your practice space look like?
My clients often tell me that when they walk into my space, they feel cosy and at home. In setting up my space I wanted to create a sanctuary, away from the busy outside world, where I would want to spend time. My space is filled with natural light, inviting you to settle into the cosy couch and be comforted with a cup of tea. Handmade pieces are displayed within the space along with items ready to be transformed into meaningful creations.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of therapy sessions needed varies from person to person. Counselling and psychotherapy is most effective when it is regular and consistent. Generally, sessions occur weekly or fortnightly to begin with & the frequency will be reviewed to ensure it works for you. I recommend that we have at least one week’s notice before terminating sessions to allow us a proper conclusion.

I keep short written notes on sessions. They are not identified by name and are securely stored. The sessions are completely confidential except under three circumstances:

- 2. If I believe you are at risk of harming yourself or others, I reserve the right to break confidentiality in order to prevent harm. However, I would only do this in extreme circumstances and would always try to discuss it with you first before taking action.
